With a powerful destiny and clearly outlined purpose, David was locked up in the desert by his father Jesse to tend the flock. He was born out of wedlock, yet God chose him. The youngest child of his father yet got little or no protection from his father, Jesse.
Until the anointing of God located him, the exact excellence God had laid on him was not revealed. God detained Samuel, His Choice prophet in the land of Judah, and in the House of Jesse. For David’s sake, Samuel encountered an upgrade in the prophetic ministry and received consecration for the same, as the Oil horn only flowed with its content if the consecrated one was right.
Despite all these uniqueness, David did not become king immediately. God built Him an army out of a band of loyal men who will defend his reign. They were people who were in distress, people who were fleeing debts, distressed and confused. You are not excellent until God has declared you so. He changes the status quo and sets standards for His own sake.
When God’s excellence is going to be revealed, He uses the unusual, He engages the contradictory situations. It is part of His ways. We can only progress in destiny and fulfil our purpose if we accept it the way GOD worked it. At Adullam, David became a captain over nobodies, but it was the beginning of great things. You must understand that it does not take time, instead, it takes God. Trust Him, your contradictions will turn into blessings. Be blessed.
Prayer: You will be able to align with the work of the LORD in your life at all times.
